Support the Indiana Center for Employee Ownership on #GivingTuesday Dec 1, 2020.

The mission of the Indiana Center for Employee Ownership, Inc. (INCEO) is to promote better understanding of the values of employee ownership among business leaders, public officials, employees, members of the media, students, academics/academic institutions, consumers, and other persons and organizations in Indiana.

Why is Employee Ownership Important? Employee ownership keeps businesses and jobs in-state and builds community wealth. Employees at employee-owned companies are four times less likely to be laid off, they receive 5 to 12% more in wages, and have retirement accounts that are 2.5 times greater than at comparable companies, resulting in more members of the community with secure financial futures. Additionally, employee-owned companies often make it a priority to give back to the communities where they are located.

With your support we can expand our efforts to communicate the benefits and value of employee ownership within the state of Indiana.  Ultimately increasing the number employee owned companies and helping our fellow Hoosiers share in the wealth they have helped to create.  According to the National Center for Employee Ownership:

  • A 2018 survey of S corporation ESOPs conducted by the NCEO with support from the Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA) found that ESOP participants represented in the survey have more than twice the average total retirement balance of Americans nationally and that those making less than $26,000 a year also have on average more than double the retirement savings compared to similar workers nationally.
  • A 2017 report conducted by the NCEO with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation compared workers early in their careers, ages 28 to 34, with employee ownership to their peers without and found that being in an ESOP was associated with 92% higher median household net wealth, 33% higher median income from wages, and 53% longer median job tenure.

INCEO has received a Gold Seal of Transparency from GuideStar and uses Network for Good to collect and disburse donations. The Indiana Center for Employee Ownership is a 501(c)(3) public charity.
